ATTIRE - note taking

i searched high and low for this h&m skirt last week. the sizing and fit of the skirt is a bit dodgy, i picked up a size 6 initially but it was i m p o s s i b l e to bend over so i swapped it for an 8 and then waist is huuge :( never mind, i'm crazy for the pattern (and price!) so i'll just make do. its a combination of different blues with a pastel pink running through it. to pick out the pink i teamed it with my trusty topshop jumper. alternatively, i've worn my primark navy turtle neck with the skirt for colder days. obviously i've worn my river island flatforms. they're just so easy to pop on and wear with eveything and anything.

DIARY - half marathon

five months into 2014 and i successfully completed one of my new years resolutions. earlier this year i did a post on why i wanted to do the half marathon if you want to take a look here. 9.30 am the race started at the worcester race course, harrison and i managed to complete the 13.1 miles in 2 hours 30 (ish) - which for our first attempt, and not training for the last month leading up to it, is pretty good!

so it wasn't easier, the worcester route is quite hilly. i did find jogging was easier than walking though because your feet hurt less! every 3/4 miles there is a water station where you get handed bottles of water, cups of energy drink and a jelly baby (although harrison kept taking handfuls!)

we managed to raise £247! only £3 under our target! the atmosphere at the race was amazing, and the ages of people doing the marathon and half marathon was so inspiring! the full marathon winner lapping us and crossing the finish line together are the most memorable bits for me.

doing the worcester half marathon was a great experience and one of my best achievements! the achey legs, dead bum for the next 3 days and huge blisters hasn't put me off doing another one. i'm trying to talk harrison into the birmingham half marathon in october. although training in the summer getting sweaty isn't too appealing!

ATTIRE - simple minds

zara is hot hot hot at the moment, i want e v e r y t h i n g on the website. kinda annoying how everything goes out of stock so quickly though. zara is one of those places where you look at an item and you can't predict the price tag. the material and added jewels on this top made me assume it was out of my price range, but surprisingly it was only £25.99! with the detailed neckline, i think this top makes any outfit look like you've put effort into it. having jewels sewn on is great for me as i'm really lazy when it comes to putting jewellery on. i have accumulated loads of high waisted skirts, shorts and trousers for this summer, and i literally have no crop tops to wear with them. so this piece is definitely going to be worn a lot this ss. in addition to jeans, i've recently paired this top with my purple leather miss selfridge skirt. when primark has good shoes...it has reeally good shoes. i picked this cobalt pair up quite a while back, but i've recently seen a hot pink in my local primark. they're so comfy! i'm planning on wearing them as just everyday sandals during the summer as well as heels for nights out.
